Life is a party! Well it’s here to be enjoyed anyway. For me there is nothing better than nourishing my body then dancing until I drop! For many girls it’s tempting not to eat before going out to ensure a flat stomach in a tight dress. However this is a crazy idea – especially if you are drinking alcohol – literally a recipe for disaster.

Take a tip from me. I always fuel up with a power protein super shake to energise me and dance the night away – the healthy way. Protein shakes used to be considered as something only for body builders, but times have changed. There are now some good options out there. And being easily digestible you can get all the nutrition you need with out dinner sloshing around in your belly whilst you’re dancing.

Here’s my favourite green energy smoothie.

1 cup of hemp milk/oat milk/rice milk

1 small banana – easy carbohydrate release and high in potassium

1 handful of spinach – easy way to get your greens!

1tbspn maca powder – tonifying for the adrenals Naturya Organic Maca 300 g Nutritional Power Food Pouch

1 – 2 scoops protein powder. Choose a protein powder that has very few ingredients – my top pick is always raw hemp protein powder. Naturya Organic Hemp Protein Powder 300 g Nutritional Power Food Pouch

1/4 teaspoon matcha green tea – super antioxidant to help combat effects of alcohol and a great energy booster if you’re going tee-total Vitalife Japanese Matcha Green Tea Powder 30g Beginner’s Tin

Blend using a handheld kitchen blender. If drinking you may like to add a few drops of milk thistle tincture to aid your liver in processing the alcohol.  In this instance a B complex supplement is also a good idea. Have fun!
